Central Ohio is facing a housing crisis. Westerville has the potential to be a leader with innovative solutions.
Statement
City Council approved our current community plan in 2016. It was well crafted and progress towards implementation has been a great success. Team Westerville and community organizations have made Westerville a great place to live for many. However, our community and region face new challenges to overcome that were not predicted prior to 2016. Recent historic regional investments and associated employment opportunities requires our plan for housing needs to be adjusted. Westerville can't solve the problem alone but we can be part of the solution with innovative ideas and sights for the long-term.

Update our zoning code to better reflect our intentions for solutions rather than barriers.
Look toward and encourage innovative and forward thinking housing that meets the needs of our missing middle and beyond.
Continue to work toward providing our exceptional city services at affordable rates.
