Statement
Westerville City Council adopted our Zero Waste plan in 2022. Ours is a thorough plan with an ambitious goal to reduce material sent to the landfill by 90% by 2040. We have a lot of work to do over the next 17 years. Our city green team is working to promote and support the success of this plan with.
Westerville is set up nicely to leverage our current services and structure to ambitiously take on leading sustainability initiatives. Having our own municipal electric and water divisions allows us the flexibility to explore sustainable initiatives that other communities may not have.
